New Hope

New Hope

You won't believe it. I didn't. But it has to be true. One of my great friends from another country (well, it's another continent, though) turned out to be a a Mac-lover-owner-etc. broke his Powerbook Titanium. Splitted orange juice on it by accident. Just a little bit after the warranty time expired. He was told it wasn't really fixable economically. So now he is on his iBook (still G4, still adorable).

What I know is that the logic board (the motherboard w/ built-in CPU? that's what logic board means?) is defected, the keyboard does strange noises and ... of course ... you can't turn it on. Oh, well, yes ... and it'll be mine...

Ok, I have no idea about taking apart laptops at all, but from this moment, officially, fixing this one will be my mission.

Vista Baby

Vista Baby

Well, the new and improved Microsoft Windows Vista came out today. As I looked at all the reviews about the design, performance and mainly the hardware requirements, I was wondering which one was closer, the day when I get my first Mac or the one when I install Vista on my old PC.

Considering the hardware requirements of Microsoft Windows Vista and the used Mac prices none of these are going to happen this week.

still don't have a mac...

still don't have the mac...

Well, in the the last fourty-something hours that passed since I first posted I haven't been really succesful with getting a mac. No problem I am the man of infinite optimism, since I was born, I have never been worrying*. I won't give up after two days. Probably I'll check out eBay and other webshops that sell used macs or mac parts. Yes, I think buying a broken machine would be the best idea. I've taken apart a few PC desktop computers, I'd really like to see what a Mac's inside looks like.

[are they white inside? is this true? :(| ) ]

*Ok maybe once, when I first halted my Windows (v3.1), then I got used to it.

still don't have a mac...

want-2-taste-the-world-of-mac

want-2-taste-the-world-of-mac

Hello. I am glad that you find my blog. As you can see in the title, it's about tasting the great world of the Macintosh computers. I have never owned any products from Apple, I have always used PC, never had an iPod, from the portable CD-player I switched to a PD-205 & a simple SD card instead of the iPod (Don't get me wrong! It's not bad at all!). Why? The white were always a little bit - how can I say - pricey for me. At the university and work no one uses Macs, I use a 3-year-old PC at home for studying, music, movies, work, photo-editing, surfing, so, you know, the usual stuff.

I was always amazed by the reviews, posts, comments, and everything that somehow reflected the Mac-people's opininon about their computers and everything that had an apple on it. Well, I don't think their life is happier, they are richer (statistically they must be wealthier...:) or anyhow their could be better just beacause they can see the world through an apple-taste filter.

Anyways, from now on I'll spend a few percent of my time to get an Apple computer somehow. No matter how old, cheap or heavy it would be, I want to taste the great world of Mac, and once if it happens, i'd like to examine if it meets the the my current imagination...and I'll keep you up-to-date how this whole idea's gonna turn out.

Wish me luck and please feel free to follow & help my way to feel the taste the world of Mac!
